Fatima Fertilizer has achieved a pioneering milestone as the first company in Pakistan to adopt the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) SDG Impact Framework, showcasing its commitment to sustainability and alignment with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This collaboration was marked by the launch of a campaign emphasizing Fatima Fertilizer’s dedication to embedding sustainable practices across its operations.
The campaign highlights eight key areas of impact, reflecting the company’s contribution to the SDGs. Notable initiatives include:
- Leveraging solar energy and minimizing fossil fuel use for cleaner production (SDG 7).
- Empowering rural women through digital access and supporting community development (SDG 9).
- Promoting responsible fertilizer use and enhancing food security by boosting crop yield by 10% (SDG 8).
- Fostering biodiversity through sustainable land management and soil health practices (SDG 15).
- Empowering women and reducing post-harvest losses, alongside launching real-time weather advisories through the Sarsabz Digital App (SDG 5 and SDG 9).
The company also established Pakistan’s first internationally accredited soil and water testing lab, aimed at enhancing agricultural practices.
